Alexander MacDonald est l'Économiste en chef à la NASA. Il a précédemment été Conseiller économique senior au Bureau de l'Administration et fondateur exécutif du programme du Bureau Spatial Émergent au sein du Bureau Technologique en chef à la NASA. Il est l'auteur et l'éditeur d'un grand nombre de rapports de la NASA, incluant: Emerging Space: The Evolving Landscape of 21st Century American Spaceflight, Public-Private Partnerships for Space Capability Development, and Economic Development of Low-Earth Orbit. Il est aussi ancien membre exécutif spécialisé dans le secteur spatial commercial au laboratoire Jet Propulsion Laboratory de la NASA, ancien membre du corps professoral à la Carnegie Mellon University et a travaillé pour la Universities Space Research Association pendant son mandat au centre de recherche NASA Ames, mandat durant lequel il a oeuvré sur le design des missions des petits satellites en tant que premier chercheur économiste.

Il a obtenu un diplôme universitaire en économie à l'Université Queen's, au Canada et un master en économie à l'Université de la Colombie-Britannique. Il a été boursier Clarendon à l'Université d'Oxford et y a obtenu un doctorat en économie dont la thèse porte sur l'histoire à grande échelle du développement économique de l'exploration spatiale aux États-Unis. Il a aussi été TED Fellow senior inaugural et a reçu le Prix de Manuscrit Historique de l'Année en 2016, accordé par la AIAA.

 


 

Alexander MacDonald is the Chief Economist at NASA. He was previously the Senior Economic Advisor in the Office of the Administrator and was the founding program executive of NASA's Emerging Space Office within the Office of the Chief Technologist. He is the author and editor of a number of NASA reports including Emerging Space: The Evolving Landscape of 21st Century American Spaceflight, Public-Private Partnerships for Space Capability Development, and Economic Development of Low-Earth Orbit. He is also a former executive staff specialist on commercial space at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a former research faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University, and has worked for the Universities Space Research Association while at NASA’s Ames Research Center where he worked on small satellite mission designs and served as the center's first research economist.

He received his undergraduate degree in economics from Queen's University in Canada, his master's degree in economics from the University of British Columbia, and was a Clarendon Scholar at the University of Oxford where he obtained his doctorate on the long-run economic history of American space exploration. He was also an inaugural TED Senior Fellow and received the AIAA History Manuscript of the Year Award in 2016.

Unfortunately, some past exhibitors and attendees have fallen prey to these companies and their offers. The organizer of Aeromart, abe – advanced business events, does not release attendees contact details to anybody. Please do not reply to these requests as these companies simply do not have the attendees list and try to scam you.
