Biographical Notes
Serge Bérenger
Vice President Innovation and RT


Serge starts his career in 1989 at Teleflex Syneravia (Zodiac Group) as Electronics Design Office and Test Lab Manager and then joins in 1993 Artus (Meggitt group) as Electronics Drawing Office and Test Lab Manager.

In 1995, he joins Thales Avionics Electrical Systems where he is successively Engineering Department Manager and VP Engineering & Programs.

In 2004, he becomes Innovation Director of THALES Aerospace Division. He joins in 2005 Hispano-Suiza as director of the Electric development and then he is named VP Strategy and R&T. He is also VP of Safran Power Division until July 2013.

Serge holds a Master of Science from Supelec (1989).


Biographical Notes
Jean Botti

Since May 2006, Dr. Jean Botti is the EADS Chief Technical Officer and a member of the EADS Executive Committee. He is also the current president of the Fondation d’Entreprise EADS.

Prior to joining EADS, Jean Botti served as the business line executive for Powertrain and Executive Director Fuel Cells with Delphi Corporation. From 1992 until 1997, Jean Botti returned to France as its Director of European Engineering and was then named Director Customer Solution Center, a position he continued to hold with the Delphi Corporation until 2002.

From that year until 2004, he managed the newly created corporate Dynamics, Propulsion and Thermal Innovation Center as the Chief Technologist. Jean Botti began his career at Renault in various Engineering positions before joining General Motors in the United States in 1989.

Jean Botti holds 12 patents and four defensive publications for his work at Delphi and is elected as a Delphi Hall of Fame fellow; he also holds 11 patents outside of Delphi. Dr. Botti graduated from I.N.S.A. Toulouse in 1986 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also earned an MBA from Central Michigan University in 1991, and went on to earn a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris in 1995. In 1991, he completed a Management of Research and Development course at the Massachusetts Institutes of Technology (MIT).

In 2010, Jean Botti was awarded an honorary Doctorate from the University of Bath, UK. He is also a member of the French Academie des Technologies.

Jean Botti was awarded the General Motors President Council Award in 1998 and is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He is a member of various engineering and technology societies and the Centre National Recherche Technologique (CNRT) in Belfort, France.

Dr. Botti was elected to the European Research Board as the representative for Aeronautics and Space; he is a board member of ONERA (the French research institute for Aeronautics and Space).


Biographical Notes
Bruno Stoufflet

Bruno Stoufflet is graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and is Docteur-Ingenieur from University Paris VI in Applied Mathematics.

He has been working in Dassault since 1984, after performing his thesis as Research Scientist at Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique (INRIA).

He was successively head of Numerical Simulation Group Theorical Aerodynamic Department, then Advanced Scientific Studies.

Since 2000, as Vice-President Scientific Strategic, R&D and Advanced Projects, he is in charge of preparation of the future as in terms of technology, cooperation and product (aerial system pre-design).

He is married and has three daughters.

Louis Bouchard
Manager Procurement Strategy and Processes Optimization


Louis Bouchard holds a Master`s Degree in International Relations from the University of Québec in Montreal.
He started his career as a research professional and project manager at the Montreal Institute of International Studies, where he was in charge of the development and management of research and training programs in international affairs. 
He joined the aerospace division of Bombardier in 2010 as senior business analyst in industry relations and corporate social responsibility before becoming supply chain manager for strategy and industry relations. He is currently member of Bombardier Business Aircraft procurement’s management team and is in charge of the alignment of the strategic planning and the optimization of procurement processes.

Mauro Varetti
Head of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

Mauro Varetti is an AvioAero manager and engineer leading the Additive Manufacturing  (AM) technology application to the AvioAero products. 
After the graduation at the Polytechnic of Turin in 1979, he spent his 35 years long career totally within this Italian company, moving across Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering & Technology, Quality, Program Management and affiliate companies Director. Mauro has been involved in most of the major european aerospace programs both civil and military. 
Recently AvioAero become a GE Aviation owned company and Mauro is part of the GE Additive Board to develop within GE the diffusion and application of AM.
He strongly contributed to the development of the brand new AvioAero shop entirely conceived for AM, located in Cameri (NO), Italy; the scope is to rapidly transform the AM from the prototyping application to a series production application in the aerospace scenario.
